Australia trip

I went to Australia(Melbourne and Sydney). I saw my friend in Melbourne and he took me around. We drove to the Great Ocean Road, it was amazing!
16th Jan there was a big blackout in Melbourne. I booked a restaurant the day before and tried to get there by a taxi. (It was near by the west gate bridge, taxi was the only way to get there) I realized all traffic lights were gone out and police officers were directing traffic. When we managed to get the restaurant (but it took a long time) there were very few people and all looked sad. And the restaurant manager said "Im really sorry because of blackout we can`t make your meal so you have two options that you give up your meal tonight or I will book our other restaurant located another coast of Yara river so that you can have your diner there". I said "How can we get there?" He said "Im gonna call you a taxi, it will be a 15min ride". I asked him to book that restaurant which was in NewQuay and drove there. When I got the restaurant I realized that it was definitely the same restaurant which I booked, I should have booked this one in the first place! Inside the restaurant was very hot due to blackout, I ordered fried calamari and T-bone stake but my wife ordered raw oysters in spite of blackout and 40C temperature. I felt her "SAMURAI SPIRITS".

In Sydney we visited Sydney Aquarium and Taronga Zoo. Both of them were spectacular but Taronga zoo was a place that I really wanted to visit. We bought zoo pass tickets which is a set ticket of ferry fare and zoo admission fee. 36$ is not expensive for an animal lover I really think.
On the last day we just walked around in Sydney. We bought bread, salad and roasted chicken at a supermarket and went for a picnic in Royal Botanic Garden. A funny thing happened, when I was reading my book on the law a man who laid my next door talked to me that we were reading same book! (Michael Crichton`s "Sphere") He recommended me other Crichton`s book "Congo" so I will try it later.
The best thing of Australian trip is that there is very little time difference (only 2h) so easy to go and come. But temperature is so different. The hottest day in Melbourne is 40C and when I got to Japan it was -2C! (It was snowing actually)

These are summaries what I found out in my Australian trip.
1. Australian cuisines are all delicious.
Before I visited Australia I thought Japanese are the craziest nationality about food but Australians are too. All foods were sophisticated and delicious. And Australians seemed to like eating out. I found more Japanese restaurants than I expected. But Sushi's ingredients were all salmon.
2. Australians are crazy about exercise.
When I visited Royal botanic garden hundreds of people were running along sea coast, and some were doing dumbbell exercising and the other were boxing exercise on a hill. As if they can`t live without exercise like a tuna (they can`t breathe when they stop swimming).
3. A vortex`s spinning direction is clockwise.
I heard that in south hemisphere the spinning direction of a vortex is clockwise. It was true. I tried several times but the directions were all clockwise. When I got home I did a same experiment but direction was also clockwise. Is it world wide thing? But I can feel south hemisphere in my house that would be great.
